Health & Safety Management

Share on:

It is vitally important that all businesses are aware of and comply with all applicable health & safety legislation to ensure their employees and other people affected by their operations remain safe and healthy.  Enforcement action caused by non-compliance is likely to be costly from both financial and reputational perspectives.

Health and Safety is a core value at GHD. As GHD UK has grown, our environmental service provision has expanded to become integrated with a wider health, safety and environmental management service approach.

We provide a number of niche services in health and safety management and employ a full service approach to projects, from undertaking initial gap analyses through to health and safety compliance audits, staff training, the production of registers of applicable health and safety legislation, and advice on appropriate safe systems of work and risk management techniques.

The staff who carry out our health and safety projects come from a variety of backgrounds and include chemical engineers, mechanical engineers, and dedicated health and safety professionals including Chartered Practitioners. We work closely with our clients to deliver thorough and cost-effective solutions, which are tailored to add value to clients’ operations.

Transport Systems Catapult Knowledge Management strategy

Asset Knowledge and Information Transport Systems Catapult option

GHD has been engaged to develop a Knowledge Management strategy for the Transport Systems Catapult (TSC).

TSC is one of a network of elite technology and innovation centres established by the Technology Strategy Board as a long-term investment in the UK’s economic capability. By applying business-led research, the Catapults help companies transform great ideas into valuable products and services to compete in the global markets of tomorrow.

The Knowledge Management strategy will exploit and manage tacit and explicit knowledge within the TSC, academia and business. It will form the foundation for information management systems design, enabling transport systems stakeholders to effectively engage with the TSC.

This project addresses challenges such as translating business objectives into the way people will work, the knowledge management system design, and developing business systems that can adapt to the changing environment.

Transport for London: Development of the Company Wide TfL Asset Information Management System Business Case

Transport for London: Development of the Company Wide TfL Asset Information Management System Business Case

GHD is currently assisting Transport for London (TfL) with development of a business case to progress and implement the company-wide Asset Information Management business management system.

Transport for London (TfL) is responsible for the operation of London’s transport system, comprising public transport, main roads and traffic lights, taxis and private vehicles. Every day the transport system supports around 24 million journeys across the network.

TfL is continually striving to strengthen its asset management. This includes internal business systems, the capabilities of TfL engineers and the organisations ability to plan, invest, implement and operate transport infrastructure effectively to meet current and future transport service demands.

Over the years each area of TfL's business has developed information systems formanaging different stages of the asset lifecycle. Now, TfL wishes to implement a company-wide Asset Management Information System. This business management system will continually improve and optimise the application of information technology for all asset management activities.
