Teledyne Ryan Demolition

GHD has been retained to provide predesign, design engineering and general consulting services for the TDY Demolition Project. The site is owned by the San Diego Unified Port District and is currently leased to the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.

The Teledyne Ryan site is being prepared for future expansion of Lindbergh field as part of the Airport Master Plan.

The site, located at 2701 North Harbor Drive and adjacent to Lindbergh International Airport, is approximately 46.1 acres, and is comprised of approximately 57 vacant industrial buildings which make up more than half of the total site area.

Project highlights include:

  • Removal of approximately 50 existing structures comprised of just under 1 million square feet
  • Removal of all asphalt and other paving materials located outside existing building structures
  • Removal and disposal of all hazardous and contaminated demolition materials
  • Removal and disposal of chlorofluorocarbons in any refrigeration and air conditioning units
  • Cutting, capping, and removal of all underground piping and utility systems, including all storm drains and storm drain and sanitary sewer laterals within the project site
  • Capping storm drain and sanitary sewer laterals entering the site at the property boundary
  • Removal of all on-site landscaping, including associated irrigation pipes and valve boxes water and black water septic pits/cisterns
