Green Lane Landfill


For more than three decades, GHD has provided comprehensive consulting, engineering design, construction management, and operation support services for the Green Lane Landfill in Ontario, Canada, which comprises a total landfilling footprint of approximately 71.2 hectares (174 acres).

For each of three expansions, GHD successfully conducted Environmental Assessments (EAs) and obtained regulatory approvals; completed hydrogeological investigations; prepared landfill design and site development plans for landfill cells, leachate collection, surface water, stormwater, and landfill gas (LFG) collection; and initiated public consultation with First Nations communities and the local conservation authority.

Organic Waste Processing Facility

Organic Waste

GHD has provided project management services including design review, construction oversight, contract administration, and commissioning services for a 30,000 ton per year organic waste processing facility (OWPF).

GHD supported the City of Guelph in Ontario, Canada during the development of an OWPF to process source-separated organic waste generated within the City and nearby regions to create a reusable, finished compost product.
