Aquatic environments provide essential social, economic and environmental services that are central to the well-being and development of all communities.
At GHD, our aquatic scientists provide leadership on the investigation and management of marine and freshwaters, to help our clients achieve better ecological, resource efficiency and human health outcomes.
Our scientists are leaders in four main areas:
- Freshwater ecosystems - specialising in the chemistry and ecology of rivers, streams, lakes and wetland environments (water and sediment)
- Marine ecosystems - delivering regulatory permitting and environmental monitoring programs for coastal and offshore development projects
- Consumptive and human water use - finding ways to deliver safe water for urban communities, recreation and agricultural purposes
- Waterway restoration - designing and creating healthy, functioning waterway environments
Aquatic environments are seldom considered in isolation. Our aquatic scientists collaborate with our clients and other disciplines to contribute high quality inputs to all stages of the project lifecycle, including planning and permitting, design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Together with our clients, we provide lasting benefits to the communities in which we live and work.
