GHD welcomes Dr Katrina Locsey to its Contamination Assessment and Remediation team in Brisbane, Australia.
Katrina is a Principal Hydrogeologist/Environment Scientist with more than 20 years’ experience providing contaminated land assessment, remediation and hydrogeology services to the industrial, energy and resources and Defence sectors. Katrina has been instrumental in assessing risks to property portfolios across Australia from conventional and emerging contaminants. She has also provided innovative solutions to the resources sector, addressing environmental impacts from water storages.
Nick Pohl, GHD’s Manager (QLD) – Contamination Assessment & Remediation in Brisbane, says, “Katrina will play an integral role on our National Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) technical leadership group. This appointment bolsters our team of 30+ contaminated land scientists, engineers and auditors in Brisbane and our connected global network of around 3,000 people working in the Contamination Assessment & Remediation Service Line.”
Katrina says, “The historical use of PFAS in products such as aqueous film forming foam for firefighting has resulted in contamination of soil, groundwater, sediments, surface water and infrastructure at many sites across the globe. I am delighted to join GHD, which is at the forefront of helping organisations assess and manage PFAS and other contaminants. I also look forward to contributing to GHD’s work with research groups around the world to develop PFAS guidelines and new remediation approaches.”
