Asset Management Information System Integrations, Manila Water

Share on:

Manila Water engaged GHD to develop and implement its asset management information system blueprint, as part of an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) improvement program. Our role included development, tendering, contract management and implementation.

In addition to the blueprint, we developed a comprehensive plan for 34 identified integrations, involving nine different systems (SAP, Works Management, Capital Works, GIS, SCADA, Finance, Business Intelligence, Customer Relationship Management & Metering).

The benefits of the fully integrated system include:

  • Significant cost savings in the long term, when compared to cost of full system replacement
  • Improved business processes, by remapping of a multitude of existing work flows, impacting all aspects of the asset lifecycle from inception to decommissioning
  • Working towards a single point of truth, with the formation of a functional single asset register
  • Improved regulatory reporting
  • Engagement of multiple business units, and their support for asset management in the longer term
  • Increased in-house technical proficiency in asset management which enables continuous improvements of the EAM

Integrated Water Management

image

Integrated Water Management (IWM) is a strategy that brings together all facets of the water cycle — water supply, sewage management, water treatment and stormwater management — to achieve strong triple bottom line benefits.

Around the globe, we now recognise that water demand and water supply are not in balance. Our professionals understand the interrelation and importance of water reuse, stormwater, groundwater and seawater as essential additions to the traditional water sources from dams and rivers. We offer IWM strategies that are inclusive of these sources and provide long-term sustainable solutions.

Spatial Sciences

image

GHD's award winning spatial sciences team uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to acquire, compile, manipulate, interpret and visualise data to reveal geographic patterns and relationships. By bringing together large volumes of disparate data, decisions that were once largely based on guess work, become more quantitative and can be powerfully presented using map-based tools.

GHD has a reputation for innovation. We can be involved at all stages of delivery - from planning and project management, through to data acquisition, processing, modelling, reporting, map production and web deployment.

Because all wastewaters are different, it is necessary to work with a team that can combine comprehensive knowledge with practical experience in the fields of chemistry, biology, hydraulics, mechanical processes/equipment, instrumentation and control, materials handling and plant layout.

GHD can deliver on all the process components that make up a wastewater treatment plant. We have designed and project managed more than 300 wastewater treatment plants (including major municipal facilities processing 500Ml a day and industrial projects).
