GHD has merged with water and wastewater engineering firm Commonwealth Engineering & Technology, Inc. (CET) furthering an ongoing commitment to grow GHD’s offering in the US. CET’s nearly 100 people will join forces with GHD’s global team of 8500 to serve local and state clients including authorities, municipalities, and industry throughout Pennsylvania.

CET's relationship with GHD extends back over seven years, during which time both firms have successfully partnered on several projects, combining their areas of experience to match the needs of their clients. The shared tradition of working as trusted partners with their clients, and unwavering commitment to accessibility and open communication has led to lasting, authentic relationships. The integration of strong technical capabilities and genuine client relationships will allow local clients to reap the benefits of GHD's global network quickly, and seamlessly.

Richard Wankmuller, GHD's executive in charge of the Americas offers “GHD has spent more than 85 years providing sustainable solutions to the water industry. CET’s local services in water and wastewater engineering now combine with GHD’s global offering to provide an enhanced contribution to the water industry around the world. CET’s broad range of technical capabilities also support our Americas wide growth plans for the energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation markets.” “CET brings exceptional capabilities in water and wastewater engineering to GHD’s thriving water business in the US,” comments Jerry Hook, GHD’s leader for the company’s East Coast operations.

"Their talented team of engineers, architects, and GIS professionals provides an excellent complement to GHD’s existing team in the region. We’re now able to offer increased depth and capability to deliver sustainable water solutions, particularly in advanced nutrient removal, asset management, desalination, industrial water and waste, water efficiency, and collection, conveyance and design of a broad range of treatment systems."

Jeff Wendle, CEO of CET says “We are excited to join GHD. CET has partnered with GHD on a number of projects, actually sharing some clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. The trust and relationships built through those projects gave us the confidence to make our relationship more formal and lasting. Joining the team provides us with a strong cultural fit, and access to substantially increased technical and management resources to support our local clients and communities."
