We understand that our quality of life as a society is inextricably linked to how we connect with each other and how we experience our environment. Our holistic and collaborative approach to urban design enables our clients to make informed decisions that protect and enhance our urban and natural environments, from city-scale to local places.

We work across all scales, from large-scale city shaping projects to small precincts. Our advice and design encompasses public open space and biodiversity, optimal land use mix, movement and utilities, urban structure and form, and cultural values and natural systems.

In partnership with our clients, we provide an integrated and whole of lifecycle service that extends from strategic inception through to post project evaluation. Our clients benefit from the early integration into strategy, masterplanning, urban and landscape design of the full range of GHD’s technical services in water, energy, transportation, movement and specialist engineering.

Our integrated approach to master planning, guidelines, policy and placemaking incorporates careful consideration of urban ecology, integrated transport and cultural values, and close engagement with Traditional Custodians.

By understanding and embracing the relationship between urban elements at all scales, we enhance the character and value of places, and how they are used and experienced. By focusing on urban ecology that includes biodiversity, waterway health, integrated water management and climate adaptive resilience planning, we are creating more sustainable and healthy places for future generations.
