Rod Naylor is a prominent water industry and infrastructure leader with more than 35 years’ experience in the water and environmental industries in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.
Rod Naylor is a prominent water industry and infrastructure leader with more than 35 years’ experience in the water and environmental industries in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.
He is a Principal and shareholder of GHD and the company’s Global Water Leader, and is also a Director representing GHD’s investment in the US-based digital water technology startup Divirod Inc., which is working to build the world’s most comprehensive water data lake and analytics platform.

Recognised for his globally and technically extensive water industry knowledge and networks, Rod is highly regarded as an ambitious and creative champion of excellence in business performance, and in the delivery of community and sustainability benefits through effective water management. He has long been an advocate for the increased integration of water into urban planning, regional renewal and the implementation of the energy transition.
Rod is passionate about contributing to capability building and professional development across the industry, cognisant of the acute need for talent to meet the accelerating challenge of managing water globally. Over the past two decades, he has demonstrated a particular commitment to developing young and diverse talent, taking great satisfaction in the success of a cohort of protégés, many now fulfilling senior executive and governance roles in the industry and aligned infrastructure fields.
Rod holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is a Chartered Engineer and NPER as a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council UK and a member of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, as well as a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors Australia.
