GHD Selected for on-call consultants list for LA Sanitation and Environment’s key programs
We are pleased to share that our bid for the On-Call Consultants List for Planning and Technical Support for LA Sanitation and Environment’s (LASAN) Clean Water, Environmental Quality, Solid Resources, and Watershed Protection Programs has been selected. This selection underscores our commitment to supporting LASAN's vision of enhancing community well-being by reducing environmental impacts, adapting to climate change, supporting economic development, and promoting environmental justice and equality.
LASAN strives to achieve zero waste of process water, stormwater, and wastewater, and eventually, 100% diversion of organics from landfills. This vision will chart the path for the benefit of current and future generations of Angelenos. To meet this ambitious goal, the critical infrastructure will need to be more reliable, more efficient, and more resilient to maintain healthy watersheds, reduce flood risk, and advance the waste-to-energy revolution.
Innovation doesn’t have to be big. We also focus on innovation that is about doing lots of small things slightly better.
To support LASAN’s main programs, our team’s experience extends across: Clean Water, Environmental Quality, Solid Resources, and Watershed Protection.
In what ways will this vision positively impact the lives of current and future Angelenos?
- Clean Water: Access to clean water improves public health, supports recreational activities, and preserves aquatic ecosystems for future generations.
- Environmental Quality: Reducing pollution leads to cleaner air and water, enhancing overall quality of life and preventing long-term environmental damage.
- Solid Resources: Effective waste management minimizes pollution, promotes recycling, and supports a sustainable, circular economy.
- Watershed Protection: Protecting watersheds reduces flood risks, maintains water quality, and ensures a stable water supply for the community.
Our core values and experience complement LASAN’s goals to convert waste into resources, such as recycled water, energy, and useful materials, and to use stormwater to recharge groundwater and increase water independence and resilience.
Our comprehensive experience with many local agencies and municipalities throughout Los Angeles County and the greater Southern California region, as well as throughout the US and around the globe, has allowed us to engage with diverse project stakeholders and develop a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of our clients.
These initiatives by LASAN aim to create a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable environment for both current and future generations, enhancing community well-being and promoting environmental justice.
