GHD invests in Information Management in partnership with Operam Academy
Over the past 18 months, more than 70 employees across GHD’s offices globally have completed the ‘Operam Academy – Information Management Practitioner Certification: BIM According to ISO 19650’ in response to latest industry and client requirements.
The certification provides a fundamental understanding of the concepts and principles for the effective management and collaborative production of information as outlined in ISO19650 series which aligns to GHD’s Management System and Project Delivery Procedures.
The courses offered by Operam Academy are based on the information management processes as outlined in ISO 19650 series that enable BIM to deliver real business value. Participants earn Continued Professional Development certificates for each module and a digital badge once the entire curriculum is completed.
In addition, GHD’s Information Management leadership team have recently completed the Operam Academy ‘Boot Camp’ required to achieve certification as Information Management Professionals.
Compliance with ISO 19650 series is becoming an essential consideration in project delivery globally. By helping Information Management practitioners achieve certification, GHD is providing clients an additional level of confidence.
“GHD is empowering our employees by providing training and a career development framework and pathway so that our Information Management professionals are ready to support the management of critical information during the delivery phase of our projects and facilitate the management of the information for subsequent operational phases.,” said Carl Willis, GHD’s Delivery Transformation Global Lead.
“The value of education for information management shouldn’t be underestimated as built assets require management of information consistent with industry standards and approaches. Operam Academy provides us with excellent foundational training,” said Belinda Thompson, BIM Lead Western Australia.
GHD welcomed Paul Shillcock, Director of Operam Academy, and author of ISO 19650-2:2018, to our Sydney office to demystify the common misconceptions of the ISO19650 series and discuss how ISO 19650 series can benefit GHD and our clients.
“Building capability and capacity across a large organisation takes time. Those planning to leave it until they absolutely need to, will ultimately be too late. Proactive organisations like GHD that are already investing in and empowering their teams will reap the rewards in the long term,” said Paul Shillcock, Director, Operam Academy.
