Celebrating two finalist nominations at the 2026 Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec awards

Two GHD teams in Québec were named finalists at the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) 2026 awards, which celebrate excellence in engineering across the province.

The recognition reflects the impact of projects that go beyond technical delivery to create lasting community benefit by improving mobility, reducing environmental impacts and supporting more sustainable infrastructure for future generations. 

One project, Managing Urban Transportation Networks in the Age of Technology, was shortlisted in the Technological Innovation category.
 
The work demonstrates how digital tools and advanced transportation network management can help urban systems respond more dynamically to changing conditions, improve the efficiency of travel and support better decision-making for public agencies.

Importantly, the project’s impact extends beyond transportation effectiveness. By optimizing network operations and helping reduce congestion. The approach also contributes to lower emissions and supports more sustainable mobility outcomes. As one of the first initiatives of its kind in the province, it reflects the kind of innovation needed to modernize infrastructure while addressing climate and community priorities.

The team includes Anne-Marie Lemieux, Ruaa Al Jassani, Vanessa Skelton and Daniel Collette. 

GHD was also named a finalist in the Engineering Project category for the optimization of excavation design for the new REM Montréal–Trudeau International Airport station.

The project focuses on improving constructability for a major transit link, helping streamline delivery for an important connection in Montréal’s network.

The team includes Dany Brault, William Desparois, David Beauseigle and Sébastien Monarque.
