We welcome Beth Myers-Graham, Environment Market Leader, US
Through 25 years of multi-disciplinary environmental consulting experience, Beth has learned to find creative solutions for multinational corporations and public sector clients across diverse end markets. Over her career, she has been responsible for operations and people management, provided technical leadership, and held market director roles focused on providing innovative solutions on regional and global platforms. Through this experience, she now collectively understands the landscape of the global environmental consulting industry and the various nuances across the US market. Her expertise is focused on integrated environmental services across the entire project lifecycle and alongside solutions in other areas such as advisory, water, transportation, and energy. During a recent interview, Beth provided valuable insights into the environmental market's emerging challenges and priorities for the United States.
“I have been fortunate to build my career from my hometown of Cincinnati and look forward to continuing growing both my experiences and global reach with GHD. Environmental consulting has been a fulfilling career pathway, and I have been extremely lucky to work with the best clients and colleagues from all over the world.”
What emerging issues are you seeing in the environment market that you are helping our clients navigate?
At GHD, we recently co-hosted a Remediation Executive Workshop and the #1 priority for the stakeholders was emerging contaminants, and in particular, the management of PFAS. This focus certainly aligns with the recent regulatory actions centered on PFAS. The energy transition is also presenting broad opportunities for our industry as we continue to address an aging grid and evolving decarbonization and ESG priorities. Also, how we deliver our services is changing. The opportunities to leverage digital tools, such as Generative AI, will continue to increase.
GHD’s 2024 Global Outlook Report includes a statement about the company’s “commitment to championing our clients is built into our DNA, and it’s thanks to this long-standing commitment that both GHD and our clients have enjoyed shared success and made positive impacts on the world since 1928.” This is at the heart of who we are at GHD; committed to partnering with our clients to provide lasting community benefit. I am thrilled to be here and weave my experiences across the environmental market into our evolving sustainable innovations and community commitments.
What are your priorities for the US environment market?
At GHD, we have the lifecycle capabilities and reach to curate holistic solutions that meet our clients’ needs and community expectations. Therefore, my priorities will be focused on supporting our teams across the US as they deliver many of the largest and most complex projects to date. We will be expanding many of our service areas and geographic reach, particularly as we continue to build out and evolve in the US. In addition, I am a conduit to our broader global team as we seamlessly connect our resources, solutions, and innovations across the GHD platform. My role is multi-faceted, and I can work hand in hand with our various stakeholders across the business.
GHD’s emphasis on innovation and delivering solutions that impact communities and solve some of the most challenging global issues of our time is truly remarkable. However, what is equally exciting is GHD’s employee-centric culture and commitment to the success of not only our clients but our people.
