Tony Petroccitto appointed to the SAME academy of fellows
GHD’s Tony Petroccitto, U.S. Navy Global Client Manager, has been selected to join the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Academy of Fellows.
The SAME Academy of Fellows recognizes those who have provided outstanding service to the society, military engineering and the AEC profession. The Academy sets strategic priorities and action plans and serves to inform and inspire the SAME members.
“I am very honored to be included in this group that includes luminaries from the military and private sector. SAME is a fantastic organization. It builds leaders and fosters collaboration among government and industry to develop multidisciplined solutions to national security infrastructure challenges. I am proud to be a part of it,” says Tony.
Tony has 37 years of experience in program and project management and specializes in projects for the Federal market, with a focus on the Navy as a key client. He has served as project director, project manager and project engineer for the planning and design of over $1B of military infrastructure and facilities projects. He is GHD’s Program Manager for a $70M Civil IDIQ with NAVFAC Pacific.
Creating opportunities for the future engineers of America
The primary goal of SAME is to promote the education of math and science. In part, they accomplish this by awarding scholarships to students entering university or college to study architecture, engineering and environmental science. Tony is the Scholarship Committee Chairman for the San Francisco Post, one of the oldest Posts in the country chartered in 1920 when SAME began.
Attaining the status of fellow is not only based on what you have done in the past but also how you will contribute in the future. “My immediate goal is to reinvigorate the San Francisco Post scholarship program by expanding the number of universities we partner with and establishing long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with them and their students. I look forward to expanding this program that creates life-changing impacts for America’s youth.”
