Brad Wood, GHD’s Growth Leader – Major Games and Events, has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Infrastructure Association of Queensland (IAQ) 2032 Games Taskforce.

IAQ is the peak body representing the infrastructure industry in Queensland. In this role, Brad will help facilitate collaboration across the public and private sectors to support infrastructure delivery leading up to and after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"We cannot underestimate the opportunity that the Games offer us – a once-in-a-generation chance to transform our inner-city, regions and city fringe industrial precincts into sustainable sporting venues, facilities, accommodation with well-connected transport corridors," Brad says.

"Irrespective of upcoming decisions on venues, the Games present a unique chance for industry development, to stimulate economic growth, create new jobs and foster innovation across a magnitude of sectors from infrastructure to technology."

Success of the 2032 Games will be in how we as an industry create longer term community value, and invest in infrastructure that delivers the transformative benefits we need for urban renewal to fully realise a meaningful and sustainable legacy."
