National Director of SAME joins GHD

We are pleased to welcome Alyssa Agustin to our growing federal business as a senior coastal scientist and project manager. Alyssa was recently elected to serve as a National Director of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

In this role, Alyssa will lead port and coastal resiliency projects across the Pacific, bringing deep expertise in coastal and ocean engineering to complex challenges for federal, municipal and private-sector clients. Her approach blends technical excellence with community-centered values, creating solutions that serve diverse stakeholders.

Alyssa joins us at an exciting time, having just been elected to serve a three-year term as a National Elected Director of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)—a prestigious national leadership role that reflects her outstanding record of service, mentorship and impact in the Indo-Pacific region. She was also recently named a 2025 honoree of Pacific Business News' "40 Under 40," which recognizes Hawaii's most influential young professionals shaping the future of business and civic life.

Her appointment follows her graduation in May from the SAME National Leadership Development Program as part of the 2024-2025 cohort, a year-long initiative designed to develop rising leaders in the architecture, engineering and construction community. Camille Gozum is currently participating in the program, giving us two team members who have been selected for this prestigious leadership development opportunity.

Alyssa speaks about her passion for this work and what drew her to GHD.
