Ideas and challenges floated at Murray Darling Association conference
Water security, Basin Plan impacts and long-term water infrastructure planning were central topics at the Murray Darling Association’s annual conference in Shepparton where delegates discussed the future of water management across the Murray-Darling Basin.
Andrew Reynolds, Australian Dams Leader, shared insights on the challenges of developing new dam infrastructure, including the significant cost and time required to deliver new dams, along with the need to carefully consider environmental factors such as fish passage and river flow regimes.
