GHD receives 2024 EBJ Business Achievement Award

Environmental Journal Recognizes Firms for Business Achievement in Growth, M&A, IT, D&I, Technology, Project Merit, Industry Leadership and Social Contribution 

Environmental Business Journal®* (EBJ), an independent business research publication has awarded GHD a Business Achievement Award for desulphurization projects at WIN Waste Innovations’ Ohio Landfills.

The projects at WIN Waste Innovations address hydrogen sulphide (H2S) emissions from two landfills in the cities of Fostoria and New Lexington, Ohio and represent the largest application of desulphurization technology for landfill gas in the United States.

GHD worked as lead design firm alongside contractor ET Design-Build. The systems are removing more than 99% of the H2S generated at the sites, have eliminated sulfur odors, and have emissions levels well below limits established by the Clean Air Act. They are models for landfills nationwide and are inspiring landfill operators who see the value of being a responsible business and excellent neighbor.
