Double win for GHD at the 2025 Quebec Consulting Engineering Awards
Association des firmes de génie-conseil du Québec (AFG) is the leading voice of Quebec’s consulting engineering industry. Representing firms of all sizes across the province, AFG promotes excellence in engineering and specialized services in construction and environmental sectors.
GHD was honoured with the Environment and Energy awards at the 2025 Quebec Consulting Engineering Awards, presented by AFG. These awards celebrate excellence in engineering, and our contributions were recognized through the following projects:
Environment: The Milltown Dam Removal project. Client: NB Power
This project is aimed to remove the Milltown hydroelectric development in New Brunswick and restore the St. Croix River to allow fish passage using innovative technologies and collaborative methods to improve the ecosystem and fish living conditions.
Energy: Hertel-New York interconnection line. Client: Hydro-Quebec
This project provides clean energy, reducing CO2 emissions by 3.9 million tons annually, and will contribute to Quebec’s economy, as it is expected to generate $30 billion over 25 years. It involves a historical agreement with the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake, respecting environmental standards and bringing social and economic benefits.
