The challenge
Delivering the project on a coastal site in Lami, Fiji required solutions that can withstand harsh weather, high humidity and salt exposure. The brownfield site is bounded by residential areas and local roads, with cleared and uncleared land, steep slopes and existing buildings and services to be retained. Multiple facilities had to fit within these constraints, and remain practical to build, operate and maintain using local resources. Coordinating input from several stakeholders and end users with different priorities added further complexity to achieving a successful outcome.
