Aaron Isaacs appointed Technical Director – Transport and Otago Southland Regional Lead
As a Chartered Professional Engineer, he’s actively involved in the industry – serving on the Dunedin Branch Committee and the Transportation Group National Committee for Engineering New Zealand, where he also Chairs the South Branch. Aaron also represents the industry on the Vocational Engineering Education (VEE NZ) Board, helping shape the future of engineering education.
In his dual role, Aaron will lead the design and delivery of transport projects across New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, while also driving GHD’s market presence and business growth across the lower South Island. His focus on collaboration and client engagement will be key to delivering successful outcomes in a challenging infrastructure environment.
“The slowdown in infrastructure spending has impacted the industry significantly,” Aaron says. “It’s more important than ever to stay close to our clients and partners, understand their pressures, and be ready to respond when the market improves.”
Aaron sees real opportunity in the way project delivery models are evolving. He believes a more collaborative approach, like alliances and joint ventures, will play an increasingly important role, even on smaller projects. What drives him most is building strong connections with clients, understanding what really matters to them and delivering solutions that make a lasting difference.
We’re thrilled to welcome Aaron into this leadership role and look forward to the fresh ideas, energy and momentum he’ll bring to our transport infrastructure services and regional partnerships.
