GHD Digital aimed to design and develop the GHG modelling and forecasting solution to support decarbonisation, operation planning and emission monitoring. This solution needed to account for execution impacts, anticipated ramp-up curves, new stage or expansion timing, and historical emissions. It was essential to empower operations teams to monitor and address emissions deviations with both monthly and annual forecast resolutions, requiring semi-annual updates and provisions for ad-hoc work.
We worked closely with domain specialists to co-develop the comprehensive GHG Model for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, incorporating physical and data models specific to our client’s assets and operations. This solution featured a user-friendly interface, data storage, and visualisation options integrated with their existing Microsoft and Business data systems. The model provided a framework to explore and evaluate emissions baseline models, conduct scenario analysis, and manage uncertainties.
Our approach involved a collaborative effort with our client’s environment and operational staff to refine and finalise the model. We leveraged our emission modelling knowledge to create a bespoke digital application that considered execution impacts, anticipated ramp-up curves, historical emissions, and the impact of planned decarbonisation projects. This helped to create comprehensive forecasts for operational emissions and compare them against actual data.
Our innovative emissions modelling solution, enabling complex calculations for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, meant users could create and compare multiple scenarios to forecast emissions under different conditions and evaluate reduction strategies. We also integrated a user-friendly interface to simplify data input processes and improve data accuracy and efficiency.
An interactive dashboard was designed to turn their complex data into customised reports for enhanced data understanding and exploration. Our end-to-end solution seamlessly integrated data collection, analysis, visualisation, and reporting into a cohesive GHG management application.
