GHD (GHD Limited and GHD Contractors Limited) recently earned the Certificate of Recognition (COR™) for the province of Ontario from the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association. CORTM is an occupational health and safety accreditation program that verifies GHD has met national standards for a fully implemented safety and health management system.
By achieving COR™, GHD participates in the consulting and construction industry’s promotion of health and safety excellence. Participation in COR™ requires GHD’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system to be comprehensively audited against 19 health and safety elements (six specific to Ontario), such as hazard analysis, company rules, training, workplace inspections, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and workplace violence.
“Our teams in Ontario worked diligently to achieve COR™,” said Stephen M. Quigley, North America General Manager, Canada. “By continually maintaining our high standards and aligning with COR™ requirements, we are able to provide clients with this value added certification, demonstrating our long-term commitment to continuous improvement of our health and safety culture.”
Already certified in Nova Scotia and Alberta, this third certification verifies GHD’s commitment to continuously improving its robust health, safety and environment management system. Buyers of consulting and construction services in Ontario have added reassurance that GHD invests in the tools, systems and programs necessary to provide a workplace free from harm.
COR™ is nationally trademarked and endorsed by participating members of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations.
