GHD celebrated a milestone 10 year anniversary of its Papua New Guinea (PNG) office this month.
The events highlighted GHD’s achievements in PNG so far, and thanked clients and employees for their support.
Even though GHD has been undertaking projects in the country since 1967, its local office was set up 10 years ago starting with just two employees. The company now has six full-time employees along with an additional 37 GHD employees working in Port Moresby to deliver the PNG Transport Sector Support Program 2 for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Government of PNG.
Chairman Rob Knott led a delegation of senior leaders from Australia to Port Moresby to celebrate the occasion with employees and clients.
Rob shared that "coming back to see the PNG office represents an emotional return for me where the vision of having a PNG office had been realised well beyond expectations."
May Ngui, Canberra Region General Manager, said, "We see this PNG office as central to our broader strategic role in the Indo-Pacific. Our growing team can and will be a vibrant and energised centre of capability for our local geotechnical team and for on-the-ground project management of a wide range of work."
GHD is well established in the Indo-Pacific region with offices in PNG, Fiji, New Zealand, Philippines, Guam and Saipan, with services spanning the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation
