Investing in Divirod to reduce water risks globally

Our team has made an early-stage investment in Divirod, a Boulder-based company that is building a comprehensive data analytics platform to map, manage and predict water risks. The platform provides corporations, communities, municipalities and asset owners with analytical tools to make informed decisions that help conserve water resources, protect properties, support healthy ecosystems and save lives.

Divirod is building a water risk data analytics platform that enables and provides data services and solutions to global public and private sector clients across insurtech, environmental, critical infrastructure and proptech. Established in 2016 in Boulder, Colorado, Divirod stands committed to the democratization of water data, ensuring sustainability, and mitigating water risks now and in the future.

Our investment will help enable Divirod to expand its global presence. Divirod is offering its customers easy access to accurate, high-quality and hyperlocal water datasets in places that matter to them, all in a secured data platform that facilitates the building of analytics and predictive models to reduce water risks. Divirod’s solution not only enhances already existing datasets but also rapidly augments them with proprietary data collection technology, which combines satellite signals and proprietary sensors to collect and analyze precise, local water data in real time.

According to our global Aquanomics report on the economic risks associated with floods, storms and droughts, water risk could wipe $5.6 trillion from global GDP by 2050. The report found that more directed investment, focused innovation and integrated water management is needed. Through our partnership, we will aim to mitigate the loss and damage caused by water risk across sectors and increase the resiliency of vulnerable communities.
