GHD shortlisted for two categories at TechFest Awards 2024
GHD is thrilled to announce that it has been shortlisted for two categories at this year’s prestigious TechFest Awards, hosted by New Civil Engineer. These groundbreaking projects have earned recognition in the following categories:
Best Use of Technology: Digital Engineering
GHD’s Digital Twin Optimisation (DTO) technology, utilised in the Major Earthworks Management Strategy for Network Rail’s Watford Tunnel Approach, has been shortlisted in this category. DTO has transformed infrastructure management by integrating photogrammetry, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), geological data, and real-time sensor information into a fully accessible visual digital twin. This innovation has enhanced decision-making processes, reduced the need for physical site visits, and improved project management efficiency.
Best Use of Technology: Design Efficiency
Our Automation Studio software, which has been instrumental in the design automation of new service reservoirs for Forkers and Severn Trent, has also been shortlisted. Automation Studio simplifies and accelerates the design process by integrating multiple workflow stages into a single user-friendly interface. This technology has enabled the rapid production of fully verified design calculations, 3D models, and construction-ready drawings, significantly improving project-delivery timelines and reducing risks.
These nominations underscore GHD’s commitment to leveraging innovative technology to drive efficiency and sustainability in the infrastructure sector.
Digital Experience Lead for EMEA, Joe Charles said, “We are immensely proud of our team for achieving this recognition at the TechFest Awards. These nominations showcase our innovative spirit and our passion for delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients and communities. We are constantly exploring new ways to leverage technology and push the boundaries of engineering consultancy in a digital age.”
The winners will be announced at the TechFest Awards ceremony later this year. Please see here for more information on the DTO technology and Automation Studio.
