One of the world’s leading engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services companies, GHD, has named John Hensman as Market Development Director – Europe and Middle East.
This new role covers marketing, business growth, customer relationships and strategic business planning for GHD’s operations in UK, UAE and Qatar.
Mark Ingram, General Manager – Europe and Middle East, says, “John will help us build brand awareness, and expand and diversify our services across the region. By continuing to strengthen connections between our UK and Middle East teams, we are making a diverse range of skills and experience available to our clients, as well as the capabilities of 8500 people globally.”
With more than 25 years’ experience working for both public and private sector organisations, John has been responsible for marketing, bid management and building relationships with clients and stakeholders. Prior to joining GHD, he worked for a UK civil engineering contractor specialising in the water, energy and transportation markets.
John is a civil engineer and the current Vice Chair of the Institution of Civil Engineers Water Expert Panel.
John says, “I am passionate about providing true client service: understanding what our customers need from us, working with them to find the best solutions, delivering what we promised and getting it right the first time.”
Founded in 1928 in Australia, GHD employs approximately 500 people in the Europe and Middle East region. It is currently helping the BNM Alliance replace more than 20 km of pipes for UK water company Severn Trent Water in Newark, Nottinghamshire. In the UAE, the company was appointed by Al Jalila Foundation as the lead consultant for the country’s first standalone medical research centre.
