Erin Jackson, Smart Transport Solutions Lead at GHD has been selected to join the exclusive Roads Australia 2021 Australia Fellowship Program, making her the first fellow in Tasmania.
The Roads Australia (RA) Fellowship Program is a unique mentoring initiative that matches industry emerging leaders with some of the most experienced, senior leaders in the Australian infrastructure sector. The program runs for 12 months and since its inception in 2015 it has been highly sought after and supported by industry leaders, including current and former chief executives of road and transport agencies.
Erin is passionate about influencing the industry to transform and feels that an effective mentoring relationship through this program will help her refine those skills. Over the last two years she has been focused on ‘smart transport solutions’ – a GHD approach that looks at transport problems holistically and how to bring the right tools, people and technologies to deliver sustainable outcomes.
“I am excited about the potential opportunity this program provides to tap the wisdom of experienced leaders to understand more about enacting transport reform and how the industry can collaborate to achieve greater outcomes such as sustainability, network efficiency and journey reliability for people and communities,” says Erin.
“Roads Australia is thrilled to have Erin as our first RA Fellow from Tasmania. As a nationally focussed organisation, RA is committed to supporting local industry and the development of leaders that will ultimately be helping augment Tasmania’s transport future. Erin’s participation in the program will further enhance this national perspective among our Fellows and mentors,” says Michael Kilgariff, CEO, Roads Australia.
“We receive a large number of applicants every year and are delighted to be able to offer this Fellowship position to Erin. We look forward to her contribution and hope that Erin is the first of many Tasmanians who will benefit from the Roads Australia Fellowship Program over the years ahead.”
