Pernod Ricard’s fitout boasting harbour views and inviting hues

Pernod Ricard’s vision for its new fitout was to create a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration among its people. The aim was to reflect the quality and character of its products through the design, while promoting a fresh and innovative atmosphere.
The challenge
Pernod Ricard recognised the need to foster greater collaboration among team members and visitors, leading to a strategic decision to consolidate its new building into one cohesive space. To achieve this, it chose to relocate to a newly constructed, centrally located inner city building spanning 1800m2. The objective was to enhance employee engagement, productivity and create a warm and welcoming environment that embodies its brand.
Our response
The design concept for Pernod Ricard’s new space was inspired by the crisp and clean aesthetic of New Zealand wine, with the central focal point being a beautifully crafted bar. As visitors enter the space, they are greeted with an open view across the atrium to a themed meeting room, which leads to the open plan work area. The space is intentionally designed without security lines, creating a sense of inclusivity and transparency for guests.
The reception, bar and staff hub are seamlessly integrated, with stunning views of the harbour and city complementing the Brancott Estate ridgeline-inspired joinery. The bar shelving is adaptable to suit the changing campaign displays. The meeting suite is set back from the building’s exterior, allowing for unique vistas through the atrium while maintaining good natural light in the rooms.
Great care was taken to achieve optimal acoustics in the predominantly open-plan fitout, which shares two common atriums with adjacent tenants.
The partition behind reception is wrapped in quilted fabric, while hanging baffles not only visually guide visitors through the space but also serve as a secondary sound absorber.
These thoughtful design choices not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also create a more comfortable and productive environment for employees and visitors alike.
