GHD secures JV Technical Advisor role on Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 Main Works Project
Professional services company, GHD, in a joint venture with AECOM, is proud to announce its role in the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 Main Works project. This transformative project is set to revolutionise the Greater Parramatta and Olympic Peninsula.
As the Infrastructure Technical Advisor for the Stage 2 Main Works, GHD and AECOM will be responsible for reviewing and updating the current definition design, preparing a reference design, and supporting Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW).
Project highlights include:
- Extending Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 with 14 new stops over a 10 km two-way track
- Travel times of around 31 minutes from Camellia to the Carter Street Precinct via Sydney Olympic Park, and a further 7 minutes to the Parramatta CBD
- High-frequency services on weekdays between 7am to 7pm, and every 10-15 minutes outside those times, on weekends and public holidays
GHD has been involved in the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 project from the beginning, preparing the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and helping gain planning approvals for TfNSW. The company is currently involved in the detailed design for the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 Enabling Works, which includes the first 1.3 km of new light rail alignment and a public and active transport bridge over the Parramatta River.
Rebecca Want, GHD’s Sydney Transport Market Leader, says, " With our successful delivery of the Sydney Light Rail D&C project and ongoing work on Canberra Light Rail Stage 2A D&C, this latest project solidifies our leadership and commitment in delivering critical light rail infrastructure for communities around Australia and globally."
