Employee-owned professional services company, GHD, has appointed Seraphine Bray to the newly created role of Indigenous Services Leader – Australia.
Seraphine has a wide range of experience, having built a career in managing Indigenous and community programs before moving into the construction industry. Most recently, Seraphine has been responsible for Indigenous and Social Inclusion at CPB Contractors, a role which saw her develop a company-wide Indigenous and Social Inclusion Strategy.
As Indigenous Services Leader at GHD, Seraphine will lead the ongoing development and implementation of the GHD Indigenous Services and Business Strategy. A key part of GHD’s service provision will focus on helping clients engage with Indigenous suppliers. Seraphine will also focus on identifying opportunities for GHD to engage with Indigenous communities and organisations.
“I’m excited to be joining GHD,” says Seraphine. “GHD has made significant progress in contributing to reconciliation within Australia, and I look forward to helping the company develop partnerships and projects that provide sustainable benefits to Indigenous communities. There is also immense scope to tap into GHD’s broad global footprint and international experience working with many different cultures.”
GHD’s General Manager – Australia, Phil Duthie, added, “GHD has a strong commitment to supporting reconciliation within Australia, as detailed in our Reconciliation Action Plan. Seraphine’s appointment adds further momentum as we look to strengthen existing relationships while also creating new ones with Indigenous communities across Australia.”
GHD continues to work closely with Indigenous communities and build on its own commitments to reconciliation, articulated in its recently launched Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan. The company is particularly proud of its partnership with Indigenous Internship program CareerTrackers to provide university students with the opportunity to gain work experience during their degrees. GHD was a founding 20x10 corporate partner with CareerTrackers.
Employing approximately 4000 people across our Australian business, GHD is committed to providing equal opportunities for employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
