One of the world’s leading engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services companies, GHD, this week welcomed Mark Pettigrew to support the growth of its North Queensland operations.
Originally from Townsville, Mark further enhances GHD’s capabilities in transportation and brings a wealth of local, national and international experience to complement GHD’s accomplished team of engineers and designers.
GHD’s Manager, North Queensland, Jose Foruria, says, “Our transportation team continues to evolve in response to a changing market and we are committed to providing responsive client service and technical leadership across the north.”
“Mark’s experience in managing a variety of large scale transportation projects, and driving business development in the sector, will help us to realise our goals and build on the bespoke services for which we are known amongst our clients,” he adds.
With a career spanning 30 years in Australia and New Zealand, including 16 years with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Mark has an enviable track-record in delivering major infrastructure projects in North Queensland, including the Tully Alliance Project.
Mark says, “Returning to the north at a time when governments and the private sector are increasingly focusing on Northern Australia presents great opportunities. I am excited to be joining an experienced team that’s able to collectively help shape our region to make it the best it can be.”
GHD, which is privately owned by its people, employs almost 650 people in Queensland, with offices in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Mount Isa, Emerald, and across the South East. The local team is part of a connected global network of 8500 people.
Jose adds, “We connect our local clients to the technical skills they need, whether that’s here or further afield. Likewise, our global clients have access to the depth of capability that we have right here in North Queensland.
