World leading engineering, environmental and advisory services company, GHD, is helping to improve operational performance in the UK transport sector.
The organisation was appointed to assess Kier Highways (Area 9) against ISO 55001, the international standard for Asset Management.
Following an assessment by GHD’s ISO 55001 auditors, Kier Highways’ Ian Allen, General Manager, and Sam Beamish, Technical Director – Asset Management, were presented with a certificate as formal recognition of the organisation’s mature asset management system.
Sam Beamish said, “Kier Highways manages and maintains the motorways and main trunk roads across the West Midlands on behalf of Highways England. Achieving ISO 55001 certification provides assurance to our stakeholders of a sound asset management system.”
Steve Mitchell, Principal Consultant – Asset Management, GHD, said “Kier’s certification against ISO 55001 confirms a systematic, coordinated and integrated approach to the management of assets, to support achievement of corporate objectives.”
GHD has played a leading role in the development of Asset Management practices for more than 35 years, helping organisations realise benefits by aligning asset management practice with corporate aspirations.
Independently of their role as ISO 55001 auditors, GHD also provides consultancy services to help organisations establish their asset management system in line with the principals and requirements of ISO 55001.
