GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, environmental, and construction services companies is the recipient of The Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Employee Engagement Award.
Presented at the BEA GALA February 21, 2019, and sponsored by Conestoga College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, this award category seeks to acknowledge companies who are doing incredible things for their employees. Employee engagement goes beyond fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive working environment – it means forward thinking, reducing barriers, opportunity for growth through training, and emphasizing diversity.
GHD supports workplace learning through a variety of educational and training opportunities, is committed to diversity and inclusion, and offers flexible and adaptive working arrangements.
“Receiving this award demonstrates that GHD continues to build an empowered culture where our employees are supported and engaged,” said Steve Quigley, GHD’s General Manager - North America/Canada. “Our Waterloo Region employees are extremely proud of this award which positively reflects the talent, innovation, and creativity of our Region, and a strong reflection of who we are on a global playing field,” concluded Quigley.
GHD’s presence in the Waterloo Region dates back to 1976. The company grew from five people and established itself as a committed member of the community. From its roots as an environmental and municipal engineering firm, it grew tremendously over the years to its current scope of services that supports a wide range of global clients in the public and private sectors, in water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation markets.
