Leading employee-owned consulting company, GHD, has been named by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) as a ‘2017-18 WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality’ recognising the company’s focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
GHD has received this citation every year since 2014, acknowledging the company’s actions as an industry leader.
According to WGEA, this year’s recipients have implemented innovative initiatives for flexibility, paid parental leave, supporting women in leadership and addressing gender pay gaps.
Libby Lyons, WGEA Director, says, “I congratulate all the 2017-18 citation holders for their commitment and recognition of benefits improved gender equality can bring to their business. These employers are setting the benchmark for other Australian workplaces to follow.”
Phil Duthie, GHD’s General Manager – Australia says, “I am incredibly proud that GHD has been recognised as an employer of choice for gender equality for the fourth year running.
“We know that flexibility for men and women is an important ingredient of a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we’re seeing more and more of our senior people leading by example by working flexibly.
“We’re also thrilled by our increasing female representation in leadership positions. Women make up 36 percent of our Australian leadership team and 44 percent of the GHD board.”
Phil is also a WGEA Pay Equity Ambassador and a member of Consult Australia’s Male Champions of Change group.
