With more than 200 graduates beginning their careers with GHD in Australia this year, the company has been acknowledged as one of the country’s most sought-after graduate employers, moving up two prestigious national rankings for 2020.
“At a time of increasing competition for talent, we are creating a graduate experience that’s realistic, valuable and enjoyable,” said Kelly Pfeffer, Project Lead – Global Student Talent Acquisition.
In GradAustralia (published in the The Australian newspaper) GHD ranked #2 in engineering consulting and #41 overall, up from #62 last year. In GradConnection (published in the The Australian Financial Review) GHD ranked #4 in the engineering and resources category and #28 overall, up from #83 in 2019. And on top of this, Jeffrey Liu, a graduate architect and Profita Keo, an undergraduate engineer from GHD were both named a Top 100 Future Leader at GradConnection’s awards night, and also both one of ten finalists in the Civil/Structural award category.
“The GradAustralia ranking is based on a survey of university students who nominated the organisation that has the most appeal to them as a graduate employer. I think this is because our graduates say they feel comfortable working at GHD, they can be themselves, there is a range of long-term career opportunities, a strong social and training development calendar and overall has a friendly, positive working culture,” Kelly added.
Similarly, the GradConnection list is based on the level of engagement students have with the employers they most want to work for.
“We are proud of our two-year grad program offering, which provides graduates with coaching, mentorship, overseas talent exchanges opportunities, workshops, and involvement with our young professional networks,” adds Kelly Pfeffer.
GHD was also recently named one of Human Resources Director (HRD) Australia’s 30 most innovative HR teams in Australia for 2020.
“The graduate employer rankings and our recognition from Human Resources Director reflects our real commitment to empowering, growing and retaining talented, career-oriented people. Our preparedness to shift behaviours and perceptions surrounding how we interact in the workplace has been key to creating a diverse workplace,” says Stuart McLean, Talent & Diversity Leader, Australia & APAC.
