People from GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services companies, are working in multidisciplinary teams to reimagine the future of Liverpool in Western Sydney, Australia.
As part of a competition held by industry association Consult Australia, the teams have been tasked with the development of a creative Master Plan for the Moorebank Georges River precinct next to central Liverpool. This plan will transform an old industrial area into a revitalised mixed use precinct.
Four GHD people are taking part, working together with colleagues from other companies:
- Shane Tyrrell – Team 2
- Nicola Bailey and David Holden – Team 4
- Lauren Harding – Team 5
Lauren says, “Working on the Live Liverpool master plan has been a fantastic challenge. I’ve learnt a lot about master planning which directly applies to my work, and made some great professional connections that I’m sure will benefit my career.”
David says, “We’ve been working on our plan over many months, combining the big picture thinking and creativity of an architect/masterplanner, the environmental sensitivities of an enviro scientist, the number crunching skills of a quantity surveyor, and the practicality and problem solving skills of several engineers. Let’s build this city!”
