Leading employee-owned professional services company, GHD, has been accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) for its Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS).
Endorsement of the scheme is testament to the organisations ongoing commitment to supporting the development of young engineers.
The scheme provides a structured program to help GHD’s developing mechanical engineers reach the competence requirements of Chartered Engineer status.
The company’s successful MPDS program currently has three mentors who provide trainees with the practical skills, knowledge and experience to develop their professional competencies.
With one chartership already resulting from the scheme, the development program is helping young people at GHD take the next step in their careers.
Craig Stockton, Managing Director – UK, says, “As industry leaders it is vital that we support the professional and technical development of our next generation of engineers. This endorsement from the IMechE bears witness to GHD as an organisation dedicated to helping its people grow in their chosen professions.”
This latest endorsement strengthens GHD’s existing relationship with the IMechE, and in particular the North West division of the institution, where the company is actively involved in a number of events and groups.
Earlier this year GHD’s James Elliott was named as IMechE North West Young Mechanical Engineer of the Year. James cited GHD’s investment in his development as a major contributing factor to both his career progression and success at the awards.
