Nnamdi Nwaokocha, Senior Process Engineer, GHD, has received the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) North West Young Chemical Engineer of the Year Award.
The award recognises Nnamdi’s outstanding contribution to the development of his career as an engineer and his commitment to the IChemE vision, to advance chemical engineering’s contribution worldwide for the benefit of society.
Nnamdi is passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers of all disciplines, but in particular those considering a role in the field of chemical engineering. As secretary of his local IChemE committee, Nnamdi is an advocate for the profession, visiting careers fairs and talking to students about the benefits of becoming an engineer, as an ambassador for GHD and the IChemE.
In his role as Chair of GHD’s UK Young Professionals Committee, Nnamdi plays an active role in driving and supporting the progress of staff of all disciplines through the early years of their career with GHD.
Nnamdi comments, “I am honoured to have been presented with the award. I feel very fortunate to have found a career in chemical engineering and an employer who creates a platform for engineers to learn and grow.”
