Chris Hertle, GHD’s Australian Market Leader – Water, has been named a Fellow of the International Water Association, a global professional organisation focused on equitable and sustainable water solutions.
Election to Fellow status is one of IWA’s highest individual honours, acknowledging people who have “contributed importantly to the advancement or application of water science and technology, bringing the realisation of significant value to society.”
Chris has a special focus on resource recovery from solid and liquid waste streams, including anaerobic treatment systems, thermal systems and membrane technologies. He was involved in the implementation of the first membrane bioreactors in Australia.
At GHD, Chris develops and strengthens client and stakeholder relationships, while leveraging the company’s global network to share water insight from around the world.
Additionally, Chris continues to advance professional practice as an Adjunct Professor in the Advanced Water Management Centre at the University of Queensland, and a member of the Research Advisory Committee at the Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence.
