2018 marked the thirteenth GHD charity challenge and as the year draws to a close we can reflect on an unforgettable event, and provide an update on what some of the money raised has been used for.
In September, 80 construction and engineering professionals came together in the UK’s Lake District National Park to raise an incredible £18,500 for five UK charities; Alzheimer’s Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Candlelighters Trust, Manchester Mind, and Purple Warriors.
Representatives from all charities commended the fantastic effort of everyone at GHD, both at the Challenge and as part of local office fundraising activities throughout the year. Monies raised have contributed towards national and local research, and allowed the charities to continue their invaluable support services, providing care and hope to people of all ages living with disability, illness or bereavement.
Stewart Tennant, Market Leader Water – UK and Challenge Founder said, “The determination of our people to make a positive difference to the lives of others is at the heart of GHD’s culture. The biennial Challenge provides an opportunity for GHD people and clients to set aside professional formalities and come together to raise money for charity.”
