Global professional services company, GHD has named Richard Fechner as Global Advisory Leader to continue the strong growth of the GHD Advisory business.
Launched in 2016, GHD Advisory offers services beyond the design and delivery of assets, supporting clients throughout the business lifecycle, including business case development, asset management, infrastructure investment and economics, and risk, assurance and regulation.
With around 30 years' experience across Australasia, USA, Europe and the Middle East, Richard has advised on more than AUD120 billion of infrastructure transactions, one of the most significant being his leadership of the technical team for the 99 year lease of Ports Botany, Kembla and Newcastle, which yielded AUD 9.35 billion in revenue for the NSW Government.
Until recently Richard was leading GHD Advisory’s Infrastructure Investment and Economics business, taking the offering internationally to the Americas and the UK.
“Our clients have demonstrated their confidence in the GHD Advisory brand as a leader in infrastructure investment and asset optimisation. They see the value of strategic advice that goes beyond the finance and accounting disciplines, and is informed by infrastructure design, delivery and operations experience,” Richard says.
“As part of GHD’s connected global network, we are expanding our services to USA, Canada, UK, Europe and Middle East.”
Ranked #4 globally amongst technical advisors for infrastructure transactions*, GHD Advisory recently provided technical due diligence on the majority sale of the Sydney Motorway Corporation, one of Australia’s largest infrastructure transactions, and developed a detailed business case and economic assessment for an alternative route through the Manawatu Gorge in New Zealand.
