A joint venture of GHD and BG&E has been appointed by Main Roads WA to deliver the EastLink WA planning and project development as an integrated project team (IPT).
Conceptualised more than 40 years ago, the 80 km EastLink WA project will transform the transport network in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs. The project includes significant upgrades to Reid and Roe Highways, forming the start of the proposed Perth Adelaide National Highway.
The IPT will undertake a variety of technical studies to inform a business case to seek funding for the construction of the project.
“The project will draw on our capabilities in a number of disciplines, including stakeholder engagement, planning, environment, sustainability, geotechnical, structures, road engineering, transport planning and hydrology,” says Julia Roberts, GHD’s Project Manager.
“An important focus for us will be to embed sustainability principles to drive economic, social, and environmental benefits. We will also be using innovative digital tools for collaboration and stakeholder engagement.”
A leader in transportation, GHD previously worked on planning projects including GatewayWA and Bunbury Outer Ring Road in Western Australia.
