Saskya Hunter from GHD Digital was named as one of Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers for 2019. Saskya was recognised for her role in the development of GHD Digital’s AquaLAB, an innovative approach to developing leading-edge digital solutions to help solve problems that impact the water industry.
AquaLAB was created to address these challenges and provides a new way for clients and partners to engage with GHD Digital, access the depth of skills and experience within the business, and experiment with new ideas that can become market-ready services and products. Saskya’s contribution to AquaLAB has been instrumental in launching new co-creation initiatives with leading water utilities.
“GHD Digital is helping the water industry transform and innovate its ways of working in the digital age by leveraging new technologies.” Saskya said.
“While our goal is to focus on problems that have broad water industry relevance, a measure of our success is that the solutions we develop have tangible, direct impact on water service providers, water customers or the environment.”
Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers List recognises engineering innovation and showcases the important role engineers play in solving some of the world’s biggest challenges. This year saw a record number of women nominated to the list, with 25 percent of the winners being female engineers.
Peter Mclntyre, CEO of Engineers Australia commented, “Engineering innovation plays a critical role in facilitating a bright future for our communities, our nation and the world. Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers list showcases the creativity and ingenuity of Australian engineers and celebrates their remarkable achievements.”
Kumar Parakala, GHD Global Digital Leader, agreed, “In today’s rapidly changing business environment technology is positively impacting everything around us; the way we work, think and live.
