Frederick Tack from GHD’s Phoenix, AZ office, was recently awarded the 2019 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Arizona Civil Engineering distinguished service award for service to the Civil Engineering profession, ASCE and our communities.
The award is presented at the annual Arizona Society Meeting in recognition of a person who has exhibited extraordinary distinguished service to the civil engineering profession, the ASCE society and the community.
Frederick has held numerous positions with the Phoenix branch of the ASCE, including President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Outreach Chair. At ASCE he is also currently the National Liaison for the local Environmental & Water Resources Institute, and initiated participation by the branch at a local high school’s civil engineering club. Frederick has also served as a mentor and judge for several teams/competitions, including the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, the Future City Competition, and the 2019 Student Design Competition at WEFTEC.
He is a frequent speaker and has presented recently at the AZ Water Association Annual Conference, the ASCE AZ Section Annual Conference, the ASCE National Convention, the Annual Tri-State Conference, UESI Pipeline Conference, APWA Arizona Conference, EWRI World Congress, and the AWWA/AMTA Membrane technology Conference.
Frederick has 19 years of engineering experience and has been with GHD for over nine years. He is currently the Wastewater Treatment & Consulting Group Manager in Phoenix, and he focuses on engineering planning, design, rehabilitation and operation of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems, environmental planning and permitting, and asset management across the southwest.
